Finding A Qualified Disk

11. Do you have liability insurance?
Although few reception halls in the midwest require this, it is still good for your D.J. company to have.
12. Can you give me some recent wedding reception
referrals?
Referrals are a great way to get an outside opinion of the D.J.'s performance. Don't be afraid to call and ask. Most people love to help since they recently did the same thing.
13. Is it okay to see you perform at a wedding
reception?
This is a great idea! Your D.J. should clear this with the Bride and Groom first. More than likely, they went to see their D.J. perform before they booked him. Also, some companies can offer a video for you to watch. The problem with some videos is that usually it is a "staged" performance of just one D.J. If this person isn't working at your reception, it really doesn't help. Since your reception will be live, I highly recommend that you see your D.J. working "live".
14. When should we book our Disc Jockey and
is a deposit required?
If you have secured your church and banquet facility, your D.J. should be next! The earlier you book your D.J., the better your selection will be. It is not uncommon for D.J. companies to book six months to a year in advance. Most professional D.J. companies require a deposit to secure your date.
15. Can you send us a song list and information
on your company?
YES, I CAN! Most D.J. companies will send a package that consists of a music list, a wedding reception planner, and a contract.
THE BOTTOM LINE
- Please take ten minutes to go over these questions with prospective D.J. services.
- Don't be afraid to ask more questions if you have them.
- Remember, your D.J. will be extremely important in determining the success of your wedding reception.
- Choose an experienced professional who fits your personality and style.
- Doing a little research on your D.J. and D.J. company will ensure that your reception is the memory of a lifetime!
Best wishes on your upcoming marriage!!
